Spaceflux, a London-based company providing governments and commercial operators with “space domain awareness” services has raised £3.5m in an extension to its seed round.
Founded in 2022, Spaceflux operates a network of optical sensors across five continents that, combined with its AI intelligence platform Cortex, provides organisations such as the Ministry of Defence and UK Space Agency with optical space surveillance.
Its technology is used to track satellites and in-orbit debris.
The extension investment follows a £5.4m raise from the company in July of 2025 and will support further developments of its products.
“This funding round validates the scale of Spaceflux’s credibility, sovereign-grade technology, and transition from early growth to operational scale,” said co-founder and chief executive Dr Marco Rocchetto.
The investment comes following the securing of a series of three major UK government contracts to provide orbital intelligence. The company has also recently been tapped by the Canadian government.
“After delivering all three UK Government space surveillance and tracking contracts, being selected by Canadian company MDA Space as an optical systems provider for the Canadian government, and joining NATO DIANA, we are now scaling our AI-powered space intelligence internationally,” Rocchetto added.
The investment was led by existing backer Blackfinch Ventures and included Foresight Group and the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund, a government-backed fund supported by partners including the UK Space Agency and the Ministry of Defence. The round also saw the entry of Tokyo-based firm SPARX Asset Management as an investor.
